In 2015, You Would Never Have Believed It

Imagine yourself back in 2015—halfway through Obama’s second term, and the nation was stable. The economy had rebounded, unemployment dropped to 5%, gas was cheap, and the stock market was soaring. The Supreme Court had just legalized same-sex marriage, and diplomacy was on the rise with the Iran nuclear deal and renewed ties with Cuba. Trade was expanding through NAFTA, and the Trans-Pacific Partnership promised to strengthen global ties. Military conflicts were limited to targeted operations against ISIS and the long-simmering Afghanistan War. The tech industry was booming and their CEOs still seemed like the good guys. America’s influence was strong, and its leadership in the world was secure.

Now imagine someone showed you a film of the coming decade. You'd watch in horror as Donald Trump came down the escalator at Trump Tower, giving a speech calling immigrants “rapists.” Incredibly, instead of being condemned, he was praised by throngs of angry Americans and elected president in 2016—swiftly imposing Muslim travel bans and targeting minorities. Nazis would march openly on American streets. Republicans would vote 60 times to dismantle healthcare, while LGBTQ+ people faced renewed persecution. Racist hate would resurface with alarming visibility. White supremacists and police would murder Black people in broad daylight. The COVID-19 pandemic would strike, with anti-vax movements dooming hundreds of thousands of Americans to preventable deaths. The President of the United States would savage his own health agencies’ response to the pandemic and announce that the US would withdraw from the WHO—suggesting injecting bleach as a cure.

In 2020, Joe Biden would be elected president, but Trump would refuse to concede, leading to the US Capitol being breached by thousands of rioters in the January 6 insurrection, spilling American blood. The Supreme Court would overturn Roe v. Wade, stripping away reproductive rights in half the states. Formerly liberal electric car maker Elon Musk would make a hard right turn and acquire Twitter, transforming it into X, a Russian-Nazi Death Star.

Then as if America hadn’t punished itself enough: In 2024, The Supreme Court would declare total Presidential immunity for official acts. Trump would be re-elected after a campaign of lies and rumors, pardoning January 6 rioters, viciously attacking diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), women, people of color and transgender Americans, renewing his bile against immigrants as “criminal and mentally ill,” and initiating a digital coup against federal agencies, along with mass purges of the Justice Department, FBI, and civil service. Then he would threaten Greenland, Panama, Canada, and Mexico. And state his intention to forcibly relocate 2 million Palestinians. The world would literally unravel before your eyes.

In 2015, you would not have believed that movie. You. Would. Not. Surely, some Hollywood wizards were fucking with your mind. Such things could not happen to us…

But they did.

So, are you ready for the next horror movie? Please—don’t read this unless you are willing to take it seriously and do something about it. And don’t you dare tell me I’m exaggerating. I’m about to scare the fuck out of you—you’ve been warned. This is not science fiction.

These are all things MAGA has repeatedly promised to do. They’ve discussed it all openly. They have capability and intention. If you don't think they'll do what they’ve said they will do—why not? Who or what will stop them?

Believe this—or not. But stopping it requires taking it seriously.

Plausible dystopia: How the US could fall

President Trump continues his consolidation of power, slowly transforming America into a Christian nationalist theocracy under Project 2025. The Constitution is still officially in place but in practice if no one is willing or able to enforce it—it’s toast.

Under Trump’s February 6, 2025 executive order protecting Christians, Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Justice Department begins targeting LGBTQ+ and atheist-activist organizations, accusing them of “violent, anti-Christian offenses,” and filing religious discrimination lawsuits. The IRS revokes their tax exemptions. Those efforts soon widen to all non-MAGA political organizations, including those affiliated with the Democratic Party. By late 2025, assets of international NGOs operating in the US are frozen and the organizations targeted for removal.

Retired General Michael Flynn, newly appointed as National Faith Advisor, oversees the “American Restoration” program, requiring all federal employees to attend weekly prayer services and sign statements affirming their Christian faith. Pursuant to Trump’s executive order, his Office of Religious Compliance begins investigating “anti-Christian sentiment” in schools, businesses, and the military. Teachers and service members who refuse to lead student prayers are dismissed for “moral turpitude.”

The Supreme Court eventually rules in favor of Musk’s DOGE government reorganization, and affirms administration policy allowing wholesale budget cuts and mass firings to be enacted without Congressional approval.

FBI Director Kash Patel launches “Operation Patriot Shield”—transforming the bureau into an enforcement arm of MAGA ideology. The new FBI mimics J. Edgar Hoover by systematically investigating civil rights organizations, environmental groups, and progressive donors for alleged “anti-American activities.” Patel's agents, many recruited directly from far-right militias, conduct dawn raids on Democratic Party offices and progressive think tanks. The investigations consistently find “evidence” of “foreign influence” and financial crimes, leading to arrests of opposition leaders and the seizure of organization assets.

The U.S. withdraws from NATO in early 2026, aligning with Russia and other authoritarian regimes, while Ukraine falls and Russian tanks roll into Eastern Europe. After threatening Denmark with nuclear strikes, Trump seizes Greenland, unchallenged, and moves on to conquer other nations. In March, China blockades Taiwan. In July, America’s 250th birthday is celebrated with huge fanfare and the slogan “One Flag, One Faith, One Future.” In October, after a seven-month standoff and Chinese threats of “total destruction,” Taiwan accedes to Chinese rule. With the help of Musk’s financing and Putin’s disinformation, the AfD wins in Germany, Reform UK wins in the UK, and Le Pen wins in France. The EU begins a long, slow collapse into autocracy—a vassal to Russia’s nukes and propaganda.

The US 2026 midterm elections are neither free nor fair. Due to widespread economic turmoil and civil unrest, Democrats poll 15-20 points ahead of Republicans. In spite of FBI harassment, electoral monkeywrenching and unexpected MAGA wins, Democrats eke out a small majority in the House and Senate, and a brief illusion of hope. Congress stymies the worst of the MAGA agenda. Trump is narrowly impeached in the House for a third time, but is again acquitted in the Senate. Democrats drag Patel into Congressional hearings over his illegal surveillance and raids, but he remains in power.

After Starship successfully returns astronauts from a 2026 lunar mission, Musk announces an accelerated Mars program. Trump immediately grants SpaceX huge government contracts, declaring America's “Manifest Destiny” on Mars. The program, framed as a bold Kennedyesque vision for interplanetary colonization, serves a darker purpose: building an escape hatch for the regime's elite. Meanwhile, new “space security” laws grant SpaceX control over all former NASA launch facilities and satellite communications.

In 2027, Trump dies unexpectedly, and J.D. Vance ascends to the presidency. Vance doesn’t just inherit Trump’s movement—he lays the groundwork for a more authoritarian and muscular MAGA. With Democrats still holding a narrow majority in Congress, his policy gains are limited, but he rails against Democrats for blocking his agenda during daily news conferences and intense Oval Office addresses, stoking MAGA anger and strengthening his grip on American culture. Vance uses Air Force One to travel to rally after militarized rally along with black-uniformed elite “shock troops,” demanding “regime change” in America.

Behind the scenes, DOGE and the FBI release newly aggressive AI-based election interference algorithms in cooperation with Putin and Xi, targeting the 2028 presidential race. The FCC threatens or revokes remaining broadcast licenses and the Justice Department sues legacy media into slavish compliance. Social media increasingly flags and shadow-bans anti-regime posts.

The 2028 presidential election marks the final nail in the coffin of democracy. Former California governor Gavin Newsom wins the Democratic nomination and rides high in the polls. Americans have had it with MAGA. But Vance pivots from the Republican Party, folding MAGA into his new New Patriot Party. Despite Vance’s dismal 28% approval rating, Musk “oversees” the vote counting, and Vance “wins” 435 electoral votes with digitally-boosted support even in most former blue states. Republicans secure a two-thirds supermajority in both houses of Congress and "win" enough state legislatures to call a Constitutional Convention, which is set for 2029.

Patel seizes the opportunity to transform the FBI into something more ambitious. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is officially dissolved and replaced by the Federal Bureau of Patriotism. Under a presidential directive, he merges the bureau with DHS, ICE, Border Patrol, and elements of the IRS enforcement division, creating a unified domestic security force. Its agents, now wearing shiny black uniforms with gold cross-shaped New Patriot insignia, are granted full legal immunity.

After the “win,” Musk tightens his grip on digital infrastructure. Every government department is brought under DOGE control, streamlining all administrative functions into a single, tech-driven enforcement apparatus reporting to Musk. Algorithms dictate policy implementation, resource allocation, personnel decisions and even elections, turning the US government into a digital autocracy, and making him “Technoking.” The US dollar is replaced with Bitcoin, sending the price of each token to $5 million. Citizens have one year to convert their dollars. The loss of Federal Reserve currency creation power sends the economy into a deflationary spiral. Goods are scarce, and imports are unaffordable due to stringent new US currency controls and tariffs. Citizens barter for what’s left.

Project 2025 architect Russell Vought, installed as permanent director of the new Office of Profitability, finalizes his long-planned demolition of the federal government. Even before the 2028 election is certified, he declares Social Security and Medicare "unconstitutional socialist programs" and freezes all payments. Within weeks, millions of elderly Americans lose their only source of income and healthcare. MAGA media celebrates the end of “generational welfare,” while Musk’s algorithms identify which New Patriot-supporting seniors will receive private relief through faith-based alternatives. No one gets paid—who Musk and Vought don’t want paid. Foreclosures leave millions homeless. Only the wealthy retain significant money or property.

By 2028, the first uncrewed SpaceX cargo missions to Mars launch, establishing basic infrastructure and supplies, along with second-generation robot operations on the Martian surface. Tesla’s much-improved robots also begin to relieve immigrant labor shortages in agriculture, meat-packing and construction—their smooth, dexterous movements outperforming humans by a wide margin.

On January 20, 2029, Vance kicks off his second term by signing executive orders banning abortion and same-sex marriage, securing passage of more detailed laws by Congress within days. Homosexual acts are declared crimes against nature. Musk trumpets these policies as necessary to "make America breed again." Abortion becomes a federal crime, punishable by long prison sentences or worse. Same-sex marriages are annulled nationwide. LGBTQ+ couples lose not only their marital rights but also custody of their children and property, which are turned over to New Patriot churches. Police begin to round up LGBTQ+ activists and reproductive healthcare providers as domestic terrorists. Executions begin to be televised.

Mass protests and general strikes erupt across the nation, demanding the restoration of Social Security, Medicare, the dollar and reproductive and LGBTQ+ rights. The regime declares a state of emergency. Civil liberties are suspended, and militarized forces, including the National Guard and private militias, crack down brutally on dissent. Tesla sentry robots, initially claiming “non-lethal protocols,” prove ruthlessly efficient at crowd control, their sleek industrial frames now bristling with weapons. Activists are among the first humans killed by robots—their deaths held up as examples of the consequences of “Anti-American activities.” Strict curfews become the norm, gatherings become infeasible, and surviving protest leaders are swiftly incarcerated. Robot-enhanced Federal forces permanently take over policing in Democratic states.

In late 2029, the first "New Patriot Cities" are established: walled-off, high-tech enclaves for party elites, protected by private militias, drones, robots, and AI-driven surveillance. The Mars colony program—initially presented as open to all humanity—is increasingly touted as an escape for the wealthy as advertisements hawk expensive slots on upcoming missions.

As society becomes even more sharply divided between ultra-rich and ultra poor, the masses are left to fend for themselves on a scorching Earth. Food insecurity impacts about half the global population.

Conquered diseases like smallpox, measles, mumps, diphtheria, whooping cough, and tuberculosis return with a vengeance. First in the prisons and schools, then everywhere. A new fast-mutating bird-flu pandemic strikes the US population in late 2029, but the CDC has been long since dismantled. Europe and China quickly formulate vaccines which are banned in the US—labeled “globalist bioweapons.”

To receive medical treatment, citizens must pay up front in Bitcoin and present a “digital observance passport,” documenting attendance at mandatory religious and patriotic functions. Tens of millions die, but reporting these figures is criminalized. State-media blasts out trauma porn of people enduring painful pandemic deaths while blaming illegal immigrants, atheists, satanists, and the LGBTQ+ community for the outbreak. Mass prayer services replace hospitals, generating even more mass casualties. New Patriot elites—by contrast—get all the latest vaccinations and top-notch medical care.

Tesla third-generation robots, released in 2030, transform American streets into a mechanized police state. Fully militarized units integrate weapons systems with "less-lethal" crowd-control capabilities. Their baseline loadout includes sonic weapons, chemical agents, and precision targeting systems that can identify and incapacitate specific individuals in dense crowds. In "high-risk zones"—formerly known as Democratic strongholds—robots use lethal armaments without warning, justified by the regime as "maintaining patriotic order."

The wealthy see a different side—their designated units act as personal security and status symbols, with gleaming chrome finishes and polite mannerisms. But even these "luxury" models are fully combat-capable, ready to switch from servant to enforcer at a moment's notice. The sentries are omnipresent, unstoppable, and utterly loyal to their masters.

In 2030, a SpaceX Mars crew of 12 conducts a successful landing, setting up a propellant factory on the surface with an even larger contingent of robot workers who work non-stop to build infrastructure. They make their own fuel and launch themselves back toward Earth—a propaganda triumph for the regime.

The Constitutional Convention concludes after six months of carefully staged “deliberations.” The new constitution is “ratified” by 41 states. The President is granted powers to enact laws by decree, with no term limits, but intra-party challenges are permitted to maintain the illusion of democracy. Opposition parties are constitutionally banned, and any attempt to organize outside the New Patriot Party is considered sedition. The bicameral Congress is dissolved and replaced with a single Council of Patriots, composed of one representative from each state, appointed by state New Patriot Assemblies. The Council of Patriots is granted power to elect the President from a pre-approved list of candidates who meet strict standards.

The popular vote and Electoral College are abolished, along with birthright citizenship. Deportation by government decree is enshrined in the Constitution, even for native-born citizens. Foreign-born citizens are granted the right to run for President under a new Patriotic Naturalization Clause, justified as a reward for “exceptional service.” The Supreme Court is abolished and replaced by the New Patriot Tribunal, which adjudicates legal matters based on faith and constitutional loyalty. The Bill of Rights is officially abolished and replaced by the New Patriot Charter, emphasizing citizen duties to the state. DOGE is integrated as the regime’s technical infrastructure under the new Constitution, managing surveillance, media, and elections, operating at the discretion of the President.

The regime begins to confiscate privately-held weapons—exempting those held by New Patriot militias. Libraries are shuttered nationwide as independent information sources are eliminated. Chinese-style internet suppression begins. Firewalls block foreign news, encrypted communications, and independent media. Owning satellite terminals or unauthorized communication devices becomes a federal crime. Slavery is reintroduced, though cloaked in Orwellian capitalist language as “Voluntary Labor Reinvestment Programs.” Citizens are cajoled into these programs with offers of plentiful food and housing, and under the guise of “debt relief” and “economic opportunity.” Participants are promised "pathways to prosperity" but instead find themselves in servitude, working in privatized industries owned by regime elites running company towns. Contracts are indefinite, wages are meager or nonexistent, and escape is criminalized as “breach of patriotic duty.”

Women face severe repression. They lose the right to own businesses, hold public office, or maintain bank accounts or credit cards. Married women’s votes are assigned to their husbands, while unmarried women are entirely disenfranchised. Although elections are already meaningless, the regime insists this change is necessary to spare women the “burden” of civic responsibility. The concept of sexual consent is removed from law, relegating women to domestic servitude and forced childbearing. Any resistance is met with brutal, public punishment.

Elon Musk's DOGE runs the federal government, while Patel's Federal Bureau of Patriotism controls the population. The FBP roots out dissenters, monitors private conversations, and conducts purges, while Musk's algorithms ensure enforcement of every edict. Together, they create an omnipresent surveillance state—DOGE providing the digital infrastructure, FBP providing the muscle.

But the government no longer needs to physically arrest dissenters. Instead, they erase digital identities—Bitcoin accounts, property deeds, medical records, government IDs, and any trace of online presence vanish. Without civil liberties, one wrong word, one wrong post, and you officially cease to exist.

Musk challenges Vance in the 2032 “election,” and wins the support of the Council of Patriots. His first act as President is to sign an executive order renaming the United States of America “The Tescreal Republic.”

A permanent Mars base now houses 36 crew members on rotation, though life is harsh and deaths are common. Dead astronauts are honored with a huge new gleaming gold Starship adjacent to the Lincoln Memorial. The Mars colony, initially presented as humanity's backup plan to preserve the “light of consciousness,” becomes both corporate outpost and elite escape fantasy. Wealthy supporters pay fortunes in Bitcoin for “founding colonist” status, though most are too frightened to actually fly. Instead, the program serves primarily as a propaganda tool and technology testbed for industry on Mars.

Climate disasters rage unchecked—wildfires consume entire cities and states, hurricanes level coastal cities, and heatwaves kill tens of thousands at a time—but federal aid flows only to Patriot redoubts.
